How did this project start?
I've pursued photography for 40 years. Recently, I've wanted to help raise more funds for cancer research because of the impact of cancer on my family and so many others.
A conversation Stewart Hill (@stew_art_hill) in October 2019 was also an inspiration, as Stewart paints veterans and speaks at events to raise awareness.
Then came the March 2020 covid lockdown. It was a time for reflection: the idea of photographic portraits emerged, to literally put a face to cancer research and equally literally express that we can can collectively picture a cure.
I hope that other photographers will contribute to this project and this website was built with that in mind.
